View Windows 10 update history on local and remote computer

The WinUpdatesView tool allows you to view the Windows 10 update history of your local system and remote computer on your network. WinUpdatesView is a standalone .exe file (WinUpdatesView.exe) that you can put in any folder you want and run it, without need of any installation process.

In order to view the Windows 10 update history of your local computer, simply download WinUpdatesView, extract WinUpdatesView.exe into a folder you want, and run it.
After running WinUpdatesView, it will instantly display the update history of Windows 10:

If you want to view the update history of a remote computer on your network, you must have full admin access (Including Admin share, like \\192.168.0.122\Admin$ ) to the remote computer. Assuming that you have full admin access to the remote computer, here's how to view the Windows 10 update history remotely:

  1. In WinUpdatesView, press F9 to open the 'Advanced Options' window.
  2. In the 'Load From' combo-box choose 'Remote Computer'.
  3. Type the IP address or name of the remote computer.
  4. Optionally, you can choose to temporarily stop the Windows updates service if the database file is locked. However, you should not use this option while updates are downloaded or installed on the remote computer, because stopping the Windows updates service will disrupt the update.

  5. Press the Ok button, and after a few seconds you should see the Windows update history from the remote computer.

Optionally, you can also read the Windows 10 update history on the remote PC from command-line and then export the data to a file.
For example, the following command reads the Windows 10 update history on remote computer 192.168.0.25 and then exports the update history to .html file:
WinUpdatesView.exe /LoadFrom 4 /StopWinUpdatesService 1 /ComputerName 192.168.0.25 /shtml "c:\temp\windows10-update-history.html"

Notice: When WinUpdatesView loads the Windows 10 update history from remote computer, it reads the update history database directly, and thus it may display more records than getting the update history on local computer. In order to get the same result on remote computer, you should open the Option menu and turn on the 'Hide Items For API Compatibility' option.
